Ordering Caviar Online: How the Cold Chain Works from Farm to Door
Can you seriously order fresh, unpasteurised caviar online? Yes - if one condition is met without compromise: the cold chain must never break between harvest and your door. Here is how that works in practice.
Step 1: Harvested to order, not from stock
Our caviar is harvested weekly and dispatched within days - never from frozen reserves. When your order is packed, the tin is days old, not months. Freshness at dispatch is what makes fast shipping meaningful at all.
Step 2: Temperature-controlled packaging
Every shipment leaves in insulated packaging with cooling elements, engineered to hold refrigerator temperature well beyond the planned delivery window. The tin travels at the same temperature it sits at in our cold store.
Step 3: Express, not standard
Speed is part of the cold chain. Within Austria, we ship with Austrian Post's Next Day Fresh service; internationally, with DHL Express. Across the EU, delivery takes 24 to 48 hours door to door - orders placed before 11 AM are typically delivered within 24 hours.
Where we ship
Currently we deliver within the European Union. Outside the EU? Contact us to discuss options - and we are actively working on expanding to the USA and Canada.
When the parcel arrives
Unpack promptly and move the tin into the coldest part of your refrigerator (-2 to +4 °C). The cooling elements may have partially thawed - that is expected; they are dimensioned with reserve. Unopened, the caviar now keeps for weeks; the details are in our storage guide and our FAQ.
Ready to try? The collection is here - harvested this week, at your door within two days.
